Spring Essentials
Spring is FINALLY here. And with it comes a swirl of spring fashion trends- there are soooo many patterns, styles and overall vibes. Do I go for an Italian “summer” aesthetic, East Hamptons Preppy Moment, or an effortless ‘Influencer grabbing a $10 Matcha’ in LA. (Why not all three, Lol). No matter what vibe you’re representing this season, this list will cover all of the must-have essentials to keep your spring wardrobe fresh and on point.
TOPS
Basic T-shirts- Of course, basic t-shirts take the number one spot because they’re the foundation of so many outfits. I always reach for a classic fitted black tee first, but I highly recommend having one in white and a neutral shade like brown, beige, or gray. My favorite is the H&M Fitted Tee—it fits like a dream, not too tight around the armpits (because nobody likes that) but perfectly snug around the waist for a flattering look.
Basic Tanks and/or Bodysuits- This is another staple I reach for, especially on those unusually hot days, and lately, I’ve been loving high-neck racerback tank tops because they’re so flattering and versatile. But everyone knows I can’t resist a classic fitted tank or cami, whether it’s a racerback, spaghetti-strap cami, or a classic scoop neck—perfect for layering or wearing on their own. H&M is my go-to for basics since their tanks come in all the essential neutrals—brown, tan, black, gray, and white—plus, they’re so affordable, sustainable, and somehow last forever (literally).
Evening or Fun Tops- Here’s the fun part! The days are getting longer, but the nights are even more fun. I love a statement top—sequins, polka dots, leopard print, andddd don’t forget the off-the-shoulder moment!
BOTTOMS
Denim Jeans- JEANS…JEANS…JEANS! We all chant it in unison because jeans are truly the ultimate outfit piece. A saggy-butt or loose-fitting pair can quickly go from Who’s that girl? to Oh, baby, no. I recommend finding the rise that suits you best, but every closet needs at least one pair of blue wash, dark wash, and black jeans.
Denim Maxi Skirt- Im been seeing this everyone and it’s def at the top of my list. The girlies that are rocking it look like they are living the absolute fashion dream. Get you a pair, lol.
Linen or Cotton Wide Leg Pants- These are an absolute must-have for spring. Light, breathable, and super comfortable, they’re perfect for everything from brunch with the girls to running errands while looking cute and comfy.
Trousers (fitted or wide leg)- Trousers are the next best thing after those linen/cotton wide-leg pants. Whether you’re aiming for a polished business casual look or channeling that classy East Hampton vibe, they’re a perfect choice to elevate any outfit.
Satin/Cotton/Linen Maxi Shirts- I absolutely ADORE maxi shirts in satin, cotton, or linen—they’re perfect for spring and honestly, for all seasons. You can pair them with a light sweater, cardigan, button-up top, basic tee, or even a fun top, making them endlessly versatile for any occasion.
Outer Wear
Light weight Sweaters- A lightweight sweater is perfect for those breezy spring days when it’s not too hot but not too cold. Whether you throw it over your shoulders for a preppy vibe or wear it with jeans and sneakers, it’s an effortless way to stay cozy and stylish. Neutral shades like beige, gray, and white are always a win, but don’t be afraid to experiment with pastels!
Cardigans- The ultimate layering essential, a cardigan is something you’ll constantly reach for. Opt for a cropped one for a trendy touch or a longline cardigan for an effortlessly chic, put-together look. Pair it with a fitted tee, tank, or even a slip dress for an easy spring outfit. One cardigan I got is from….You guessed it. H&M (I swear I’m not affiliated with them, Lol)
Blazers- Blazers aren’t just for the office anymore—they’re a staple for creating that clean, polished look with minimal effort. An oversized blazer instantly makes any outfit cooler, whether paired with denim, trousers, or a cute mini dress. I highly recommend having a black or neutral one, but a pastel or bright blazer is perfect for adding some spring energy.
Button Ups- A classic button-up is one of the most versatile pieces you can own. Wear it loose over a tank, tucked into denim, or even layered over a satin slip dress. Linen and cotton button-ups are the way to go for spring—light, breathable, and timelessly stylish. (Thrifting button ups are a perfect way to obtain these pieces)
Dresses
Flowy Dresses- I was never really into dresses, but spring is the perfect time to step out of my comfort zone. After a shopping spree (oops), I realized that flowy dresses are truly magical—they’re effortless, comfortable, and look so dreamy in bright, colorful hues that complement your skin tone. It’s giving main character energy, and honestly, everyone should get one.
Satin Slip Dresses- THESE DRESSES were made for the SBK girlies. A slip dress with lace-trimmed details (especially at the neckline or hem) is the definition of effortless elegance. The key is finding one that’s fitted but still drapes beautifully over your body—not too tight, not too loose. Whether in classic black, soft neutrals, or bold statement colors, these dresses are a spring essential.
Shoes
Ballet shoes- I recently got a red pair, and I swear I grab for them almost every other day. They instantly add a chic, feminine touch to any outfit, and now I’m eyeing a black pair too. If you’re looking for an affordable option, there are so many great finds on Amazon that fit every budget.
Sneakers- Adidas Sambas and Converse are my GO-TO sneakers, and I definitely wear them way too much (they may need a little cleaning, lol). Investing in a good sneakers is a way to go especially for those who are looking for comfort while walking around….shopping of course, lol.
SlingBack Heels- A slingback heel is the definition of classy and timeless. Whether you go for a kitten heel or something a little higher, they’re perfect for everything—from brunch dates to dinner nights. A neutral-colored pair (think beige, black, or white) will match everything, but a pop of color like red or pastel pink? Obsessed.
Sandals (platform or non-platform)-Spring is sandal season, and whether you love a classic flat sandal or a chunky platform, they’re an absolute must. A good leather pair will last forever, but woven, braided, or strappy designs add that extra touch. The best part? They go with everything—flowy dresses, wide-leg pants, denim—you name it.
